What is Community Health?

Community Health aims to deliver benefits for the community in promoting positive wellbeing, reducing preventable disease prevalence, morbidity, disability and mortality. Our service is mostly concerned with promotion, prevention, early detection of disease and early intervention.

Working towards a healthier future for all West Australians

Community Health:

Focuses on disadvantaged groups and individuals (eg. ATSI, refugees, teenage mothers).
Collaborates with a range of government and non-government agencies, general practitioners and community groups to have impact on the determinants of health and health outcomes.
Identifies and implements strategies to reduce demand on the public health system in the long term.
